Formula 1 is the most popular automobile class in the world. This sport consists of a race competition between super fast cars. The proposal took place for the first time in 1950, with the purpose of bringing together all the Grands Prix (GP) of Europe. At this time, the cars respected the pre-war standards, such as the engine being at the front of the car (it was only in the 60s that the engine was moved to the back, like nowadays) and the use of aerodynamics.

In the first years, the races were hosted only by European countries, besides one in the USA, more accurately in Indianapolis, with just four teams. The competition started to grow to other countries such as Argentina (1954), Marrocos (1958), Mexico (1963) Brazil (1972), Japan (1976) and Australia (1996), consecrating itself as the greatest racing competition in the world.

Nowadays, Formula 1 has changed a lot. We have in 2023 a total of 23 races and 6 sprint races (little races to decide who is taking the pole position), with 11 teams. The cars are lighter and pretty much safer. Concerning security, being a racer at any car competition is extremely dangerous once you are driving at high speed, sometimes reaching more than 300 Km/hr. A lot of pilots have died in the sport before. Because of that, in the last few years a huge amount of updates in the rules as well as in the cars themselves needed to be made. As the years go by, the sport keeps growing more and more, being predicted the entry of major brands, such as Audi, by 2026.
