Have you ever seen Inside Out? What do you think about the movie? Are you one of those people who after the film starts to think about it? Have you ever thought about the messages that this one transmits?

Firstly, I would like to talk a little about the movie’s plot. It’s about Riley’s emotions during the adaptation to her new life. She had to change cities, consequently having a different house, school and friends. This change could be easy for many people, but for Riley it wasn’t. The choices in the way she acts are made by the emotions, and they need to reach a consensus, even though it is very difficult. In this movie, we could see the behavior of Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger in different moments. All of them want the best for Riley, mainly Joy, as she is in charge of her mind’s control panel most of the time.

Secondly, it is really important to understand the messages that the film wanted to transmit. For example, we need to realize our emotions, even if they’re almost imperceptible. Otherwise, when we comprehend them, they are going to be uncontrollable and we are going to start lying to ourselves and to the people around us. All feelings have a necessary function in our life, even sadness. It values the good moments, makes you organize your emotions and encourages feelings of compassion and humility. Fear is a symbol of protection, when you know that something is really dangerous you will always think twice and know when you put yourself in life-risking situations. Anger is also crucial, because it is the first step to realize unfairness. Disgust is a synonym for prevention, it protects you from something that could harm you. Joy is how we value others. It makes you forget all your problems and usually appears when we are doing something that we really like or just being with people we love.

In conclusion, I think that this film has a very good story and it also makes us reflect about how we are feeling. We are not in a position to treat our feelings as invisible, but to embrace them to have our own attitude. Obviously, we can’t let the emotions carry us, it is fundamental to feel the sentiment and then overcome them depending on the situation.
