Hi, my name is Rikki and I am going to tell you the story of how my friends and I became mermaids.

It was an exciting day for me and my two friends Cleo and Emma. It was our first boat trip together and alone. Everything was going well, until we arrived at Mako island. When we got there, we started exploring, until Cleo fell into a hole and Emma and I jumped in to save her.

The hole had a slide and when we reached the end, we couldn’t believe what we saw,. It was a beautiful place with a “pool” bounded by sea water. 

Despite the shock, we were very happy with what we found. We were there enjoying the place when a strange thing happened. The water started to bubble and at the exact same time the moonlight became very strong, illuminating us. After that, we decided to leave as it was already dark. It was difficult to find the way out, but we did it. 

The day after the incident, I was feeling very strange. I was sweating a lot, so I decided to take a cold shower to see if I would get better. When I filled the bathtub with water and got into it, the water started to bubble, like the previous day, and a tail appeared in place of my legs.

I was desperate. I got out of the bathtub and tried to dry myself. After that, my legs came back. And that’s how I realized I had become a mermaid.
