Sometimes we focus too much on our own lifes and forget about others. Do you know what is happening in Rio Grande do Sul?
Right now, in Rio Grande do Sul, the rain is the strongest it’s been in a long time and it’s flooding everything, like we only had seen in movies. This catastrophe was intensified by the climate change caused by human beings. Analyzing data of the last 40 years, meteorologists found out that these weather variations have made the rain 15% worse than it would be, increasing environmental tragedies.
The situation is very serious. There are already 151 registered deaths (as of May 16th) and this number gets higher everyday, the same as the quantity of missing people. There are 615000 individuals (as of May 16th) who lost every single thing they had, including their homes and relatives. Now, Rio Grande do Sul’s population needs help with any type of donations, water, clothes, food…
To help all these people in need, the course 13 Stars is donating water to send to the state. So please, donate if you have conditions. You can make the difference.
The disaster had not only affected humans and their belongings. Many animals also suffered a lot. Dogs, cats, birds and even horses are in distress. Fortunately, 11002 animals were rescued (as of May 16th). All the saved animals underwent veterinary screening. Those in good health are returning to their owners. When they can not be identified, the animals are sent to public shelters, non-governmental organizations or to veterinary clinics if they’re injured.
They need all the assistance it can be given. We can make Rio Grande do Sul a good place to live again. And also make its habitants return to their typical lives. Let’s prove that mankind still has salvation. Donate!
