“Verity” is a book written by Colleen Hoover. It is a psychological thriller that mixes suspense, love and lots of secrets. The main character is Lowen Ashleigh, a young writer who gets the big chance to finish a series of bestseller books written by Verity Crowford, who is in a coma due to a car accident. At least it is what we think.
The characters of the book are complex and we cannot fully understand them and Lowen can be very relatable in some parts. Another strong point of “Verity” is how the author made us stuck in the story and really curious to see who actually was Verity Crowford behind her famous novels.
Nevertheless, the book has some flaws. The plot can be a little too delusional and the characters can react in extreme ways that feel unrealistic. We can’t know for sure who are the good ones and bad ones in the story or who is lying or telling the truth, and even when the book ends, that doesn’t become clear.
Despite some low points, “Verity” is a really intriguing book and you will probably read it in less than a week. I recommend it for those who are looking for some entertainment, however, be prepared for some intense scenes.
