Lord of the Flies, from 1990, is a movie adaptation of William Goldwing’s acclaimed novel, which shares the same name. The movie tells the story of a group of American school boys who are attacked while trying to leave America, due to a terrible war that has installed fear in the country.

The boys, after being attacked, were launched on a deserted but beautiful island full of fauna, some of the worst detailed in motion pictures until today. Things on the island start innocently and planful, but the movie takes a dark turn. When Simon, one of the school boys, is brutally murdered by the others, being mistaken for the beast that inhabits the isle. However, the beast is only the evil inside the human mind. The main conflict is created when Jack and his hunters attempt to hunt and kill Ralph, the leader of this child civilization. After setting fire to the jungle, they are rescued and in the end, being orphaned by society isn’t that good.

This movie, although being significantly different from the novel, is excellent. However, I’d recommend the movie for people who aren’t afraid of blood and death because some of the scenes are extremely violent, such as Simons’ death.
