Do you know how huge Corinthians’ history is? If you don’t, we’re going to tell you about it with some memorable moments. The club was founded on September 1st 1910 by a group of workers which firstly thought of representing the working class playing in the amateur league.

Among Corithian’s trophies , the most important title is the Club World Cup in 2012 which campaign was harsh. They have played against Chelsea and Al Ahly which were the champions of their respective continents. After the semi-final against Al Ahly, Corinthians have a bigger challenge versus the current winner of the 2012 Champions League. However, Corinthians squad fought bravely with the special participation of Cássio, the goalkeeper, who blocked all the kicks, and of the striker, Paolo Guerreiro, who scored the only goal of the match, Consecrating Corinthians a World Club Cup winner for the second time.

The club wasn’t just memorable inside the pitch, it contributed to the Brazilian fight against the dictatorship during the 1982 and 1984 years. This resistance was marked by the political position of four players, Sócrates, Wladimir, Casagrande and Zenon although Sócrates was the most former. In that period, Corinthians used their space in the pitch to express political ideas and complain about the military regime.

On the whole, you can notice by reading this article that Corinthians and soccer in general represents more than just a brilliant sport, It’s a way to give voice to the population in Brazil and in the whole world.
