Dash & Lily - Netflix

Are you looking for a movie or a TV show to get you pumped up for the Holidays? Then, “Dash & Lily” might be just perfect for you! In this series, based on the book of same name, not only do we get an adorable love story that takes place throughout the festive season, but also lifelike and complex protagonists, attributes that are quite difficult to find in most recent romcoms, in which characters are more and more cliché. 

Set in New York, the show follows a teenage girl, Lily, who is artistic, charismatic, shy and full of Christmas spirit and a teenage boy, Dash, who is almost the complete opposite, logical, witty, snarky and a big hater of the Holidays. They start to get to know one another through a red notebook, where one writes down a dare and the other, in addition to completing it, has to review the experience and propose a different challenge. This small book of dares allows them to remain anonymous and to connect better. 

Despite being a chiché story, the adaptation is completely heartwarming and a very enjoyable watch. Moreover, it has a wonderful festive soundtrack that completes the scenery and sets the mood just right for the season. And if by now you are still not convinced to check out this lovely mini series, then be aware that it will take you through all the hidden New York City locations, sights that fall outside of the usual tourist guide, but are definitely worth a visit. 

All in all, “Dash & Lily” is a delightful TV show to watch during the festive season. Thus, if you are already a big fan of the Holidays I assure that you will love it and if you are not, then it might change your feelings about it. So grab a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy!
