Our favorite type of entertainment is soap-operas. They are similar to TV series, however there are some differences: instead of having multiple seasons, they tell an ongoing story of the main and side characters, their secrets, conflicts, love interests, etc.

Soap-operas bring us a fictional story inspired on real life, and it can also have a historical background. Do you know any stories which were adapted into a soap-opera?

The soaps used to influence a plethora of people here in Brazil, mostly in fashion design, but also hair and nails style. They have also contributed to encourage people in Brazil to donate marrow with Manuel Carlos’ masterpiece “Laços de Família” which was considered a gigantic hit. Melodramas can impact positively in our society. As an example, we shall mention Gloria Perez’s “Explode Coração” that helped to find 70 missing kids by promoting a campaign. Did you have any idea that a soap opera could do that? Now that you learned more about it, would you give it a try?
