Reborn dolls were created to copy the appearance and pleasant looks of real toddlers and, for me, evoke a feeling to wreak havoc. Their unpleasant hyper-realistic features, from real hair to fake veins, place them in the “uncanny valley” phenomenon, that is the unsettling feeling people experience when encountering human-like entities. But, for me, the strange twist might be the atypical attraction of grown-up men to realistic baby dolls. I feel unsafe thinking that some people in our society might commit real crimes on reborn dolls just to relieve their hidden pleasure. So, that being the case, we need to think about those threats in our society as soon as possible.
