It was a raining Tuesday night. Ana arrived soaked to her bones, dipping on her doormat. She was about to open the old wooden door when she stumbled upon a yellow envelope: it must be Susana’s wedding invitation, she thought. Little did she know that had nothing to do with her sister’s love life.

As soon as she entered her home, she let herself fall onto the living room’s sofa, exhausted. The letter was left unattended on the side table. She was barely giving up on staying awake when she realised something was stinking to high heaven. “I forgot to put the tomato soup back in the refrigerator”, she guessed.

There was no rotten soup on the kitchen counter. “That was strange, wasn’t it? Maybe it’s coming from the bathroom”, she thought. After all, there has been a leak there last month.

She opened the bathroom’s door and with a startle, realized there was something scribbled in vivid red on the mirror. Lipstick. It was written with lipstick. She had only made sense of the words, when she saw it hanging by her side. A thin rope around his neck. Her sister’s fiance. Before the panicked scream could leave her lips, she felt a stabbing pain on her side.

A few hours later, Susana knocked on the door. She had promised to go shopping with Ana for her wedding. However, instead of finding her waiting excited on the other side of the door, she found a stinky empty living room. “Where’s that smell coming from?” She wondered. Before she could think of anything else, a yellow envelope caught her attention. Heart beating rapidly, she carefully took off the paper clip, kept it shut and opened it with her trembling hands. There, she read those damned words: See you soon Susana.
