The Substance is a horror and fictional film that just came out. It has a strong cast starring Demi Moore, with “Questão de Honra” and “As Panteras” in her career, Margaret Qualley with “Pobres Criaturas” and “Era uma vez em Hollywood” in her filmography and other actors.

The movie synopsis is about a fading celebrity that decides to use a black market drug, that is a cell-replicating substance that temporarily creates a younger and better version of yourself. And then obviously things started going wrong.

What’s interesting is that to play the younger version of Sue, Margaret used lots of prosthetics to look better and her face was totally edited, which shows more the idea that anybody is perfect. A curiosity is that there is a brazilian series called “A Formula”,which shows us the story of a scientist that uses a formula that transforms the protagonist into a version of herself 30 years younger. The unfolding of the series’ story is totally different and it has a romantic comedy feel, the opposite of the film, but this comparison has been made between the two productions because they have the same base plot.
