Have you ever heard about Diego Maradona? And what he was able to do? One of the greatest soccer players of all time. Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina). He made his professional debut when he was 15, with the club Argentinos Juniors.
During a quarterfinal match, against England, in the 1986 World CUp, what happened in Mexico. Maradona scored what we called “Goal of the Century”, despite being an illegal handball it is known as “La Mano de Dios”. That took the Argentine national team winning the championship.
Maradona was given the nickname “El Pibe de Oro” (“The Golden Boy”) thanks to his dribbling ability, vision, close ball control, passing and creativity.
As a way of thanking everything he did, the passionate Argentine supporters created a religion called “Iglesia Maradoniana”. The religion has about 300.000 followers.
