Paralympic sports are the ones which are adapted for disabled people to play. The rules and methods are different and it helps to include them in society. It also shows their value and abilities to the world.

There are many sports that make this inclusion, but we are going to talk especially about one of them: The paralympic volleyball.

In this paralympic game, the players are divided into two teams of six, and play it sitting on the court. The net and the court used in the competition are smaller than the original ons as the players have special needs.

The rules are almost the same as in traditional volleyball, but in this one the players must be seated. They can only be raised if the ball is over the net. The matches are divided in sets of twenty five points and a fifteen-point tie break just like the original.

Thinking Especially about disabled people, a man called Ludwig Guttmann created the Paralympic games. He was a neurologist, who dedicated his life to recover the bone marrow wounds of his impaired patients. The Games were created in 1952 and first took place in 1960.

Nowadays people are more included in social activities and feel more confident about themselves. This way they can achieve their aims and dreams.
